Dance Show x

Ok this is not an outfit that I designed or made but I want to make my blog more personal so by putting up dates on everything!...So here I go
This is me dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz for my dance show, I only have one picture in one outfit as I was only in one dance out of the whole show! A week before the show, I landed a jump very badly and I heard a crack and so did my dance teachers and my friends dancing around me so they all thought it was broken, went to hospital, was seen to after 2 and a half hours, I had torn ligaments which is known to be worse as it can take months to heal, Just my luck that I injured myself, words could not describe how gutted I was, but oh wells the show must go on. It felt so good to still be asked to be Dorothy as that is a main part, we adjusted the choreography so that I was able to just to walk to the areas of the stage and not skip/properly dance!
Heres hoping next year I will be Injury Free!

CORSET YO!

I was supposed to upload this post as well at the same time with my last but I still needed to tweek a few things!
This is the corest I designed and made in one of my classes at college last year, we were inspired by Harlequin, Scaramouche, Pierrot and Columbine! I had to design 10 different corsets with those to be inspired by and then I presented them all to the class and the final design that would be made was chosen by my fellow class mates, was delighted that they chose the one I preferred!
As you can see I was inspired by mostly Harlequin with the diamonds, I had never made a corset before so it was definitely a challenge, I did enjoy it though even though times were hard and I nearly gave up with it all!

I am indeed modelling my own creation again, but why not!

FRILLER

Wow it has definitely been a while since I posted on here, this is me finally getting round to showcase what I have been up too.
In my Garment Construction class, we were given the Brief Friller, being the person I am I actually thought  Thriller, aka Michael Jackson... but no, it was all about frills and ruffles, personally I am not a keen bean on those but in life you don't always like everything you just got to go with it.

We had to have ten sketches done and this is the one I Favorited the most, it is not a very good photo/drawing, apologies. I was inspired by the back of dragons, with there spikes (I know they are not real) and then the colours by the fire that is breathed and just also cause the colours all work together and really stand out.

This is the only photo I have of in the making, guess I did not want to give too much away of in the process. The hardest part of the making of this dress was definitely the ruffles and sewing them all together, I was literally stopping every two seconds just to make sure I had not made a mess of it, I said in the making that I did not want to do anything to do with ruffles again but I will, it's all the part of learning I guess and the more practice you get the more you get used to it and then it just becomes a breeze in the making so open to all ideas in the future..

TADAAAAAAAAAA!!!
This is it completely done, and if i say so myself I am very proud of it, as any designer should be with there work. I am indeed modeling my dress in the photo, I thought why not, It looked really good on the cat walk, definitely stood out with all the colours.
